Exploring Bankruptcy Garnishments With A Chapter 13 Attorney and Chapter 7 Attorney
One of the things that many people are frightened about that may be a part of their bankruptcy are what are known as bankruptcy garnishments. These are, in short, when the government and/or the agencies in which you owe money to will go after your bank account in order to try to get their money back. If this happens you need to contact a Chapter 13 Attorney or our Chapter 7 Attorney. The money will come right out of your wages that you get on a regular basis, making it so that you can’t access all of the money that you have earned.
Of course, this begs the question – can and does this always happen? The answer is, absolutely not. There are some circumstances where this may be part of the agreement and, therefore, it happens because you have allowed them to do so. Other circumstances may involve you breaking your part of the agreement that you came to when you filed for bankruptcy, which would allow the parties to have access to your wages at that point. In both cases, it is because of your own actions (or inaction) that they are able to take out wages from you. There could be other circumstances as well, but that will be discussed with you during your specific case.
Are you concerned about what bankruptcy garnishments may mean for your particular case, or do you want to make sure that you are going to get everything that you need even while you’re filing for bankruptcy? Contact our Chapter 13 Attorney or our Chapter 7 Attorney and we will do everything that we can to help you with your needs and your questions.
